  I always enjoy your commentary, thank you!

  In your last comments, mentioning how the file and rank will respond to this new "teaching"?.

  My spouse said I should say something to my family about this WT study and the "change".

  But I know for a fact that they don't do deep research and they don't understand the "old" teaching
  enough already so this "new" stuff is just going to be even more things they don't completely
  understand but of course its from the Governing Body so what ever they say they accept.

  That's one of the biggest problems in reasoning with these people, majority of JW's don't do
  proper bible study hence when you try to bring bible truth and common sense to them they just don't get it
  and of course Don't want to even hear it!
  
  It's frustrating because seeing the two commentaries on the study just show how insane the WT teaching is!
  But trying to tell any JW about it...is just...uhh..useless.

  I can hear my family and friends comments:

  "well the WT article has laid it out very clearly...maybe you should go over it again"
  or
  "Obviously you're heart is in the wrong place if you're looking what is wrong in the article."
  
  and of course,
  "you should go to the elders and ask them these questions"
  
  As i said to my spouse...I'm not going to bother opening that can of worms! lol

  Anyways, sorry for the rant. Thank you again Blondie.

  in steve hassan's book, " combatting cult mind control" - one of the points that assisted me the most is understanding that all cult members have a " cult " personality which turns on when defending their faith, and they have an authentic, non - cult personality they were born with- the personality they had before being programmed by the jehovah's witnesses or any other " cult".

  how is this dual cult/ authentic personality manifest ?

  hassan mentions in his book that, " one moment the person is speaking cultic jargon with a hostile or elitist know-it-all attitude .

  I totally second with what Hope4others wrote!

  I guess the hardest part is I've tried some techniques from the book on some family and the WT mind controlled wall they put up
  is VERY very hard to break. Its exhausting and can back-fire.

  The regular personality can accept a fact while in discussion at that moment but once they go home...the devil/WT mind control
  takes over and they turn on you and either rat you out for "apostate" thinking or tell other family members a twisted version of your
  conversation and its just causes a $hit storm.

  To tell the honest truth i've given up trying....I'm bruised from the brick wall they put up and i think they will only
  realize the REAL "truth" once the WT is burned down with all other false religion.

  All these abuse stories never fail to bug and frustrate the $hit out of me. Why is it so bloody hard to inform the police?!
  And I know , I know the reason why they cover up...its just so bloody frustrating and of course sad.

  How can they think Jehovah looks down and is happy with them sheilding disgusting men who take children's innocence?
  And of course the ultimate...when this stuff gets out....don't they realize it is a "bad witness"?!?!?!

  Anyways, that's it...I just had to vent and share with my people. ;)

  Member experience: Ten years ago when me and my family first moved to the area where we live now some Jehovah's Witnesses started calling.
  They were nice enough people I thought, and even though I was never going to be converted into their society I did strike up a freindship with a couple of the mums who had children around the same age as mine.
  Soon a man called Bob Bill started visiting and inviting me & my family round to his quite often , which I thought to be quite nice of him although we were rather busy with other things and couldn't often go.
  Bob however called at my home intermittantly, asking if my two little girls could go and play at his retreat......luckily I always had an excuse as to why they could not go, and therefore thank goodness this man did not have access to my girls.
  Recently he was arrested for the attempted abduction of a 5 year old girl....... It came to light that he moved to this area having been arrested for something similar in the past.
  Also he had been abusing the young daughter of one of the Mums I knew (the CID officer who interveiwed me later told me the jehovahs witness elders had tried to cover it up and deal with it themselves) and had child pornography on his computer....
  And all the while he was going from door to door preaching !!!

  i found comfort in the easy-going nature of my best friend who always gave me a sense that things would be alright.

  yes that right folks, after this one, no more full-text comments from v. our little video factory is running at full steam again and this is where i will be focusing my energy.. to finish with flourish, our visiting speaker leolaia has produced an intensive dissection of this study with an eisegetical and historical razor blade shiny-sharp.

  "christ's presence--what does it mean to you?".

  the april 14-20 study is jehovah's witnesses' big "new-light" of 2008, though we will find that the bulb is actually a vintage filament burning on borrowed time.

  Why do I cringe? Why am I still so bitter?

  made my own personal statement by skipping the memorial, and then went to the next regular ol sunday meeting with my wife.

  i tried hard not to pay attention, but still went nuts when the wt said things clearly not in the bible (which i don't even believe anymore!).

  so why does this still bother me?

  I totallly relate.

  I"ve been out 3 years and I am stilll so angry and get upset regularly. I will admit, jdub family are a constant source of trouble and unpleasant reminders.

  I too ask the same questions as you do.....at least we are not alone.

  I will admit each year gets slightly easier/not as painful.

  for obvious reasons, i cannot reveal my identity.

  although my "family" nows that i am no longer a witness and celebrates holidays, they still have "hope" for me.
